Carla Befera Public Relations
Carla Befera has been a Bay Area publicist for over 25 years.
Prior to forming her company in 1983, she acted as Marketing
Director for KQED Public Broadcasting, providing public relations
for one of the nation's top four public television stations
(Channel 9), and its sister station (Channel 32). Carla Befera
Public Relations has represented a variety of clients including
major concerts and theatrical productions, large scale public
events, national television specials and series, non-profit
campaigns, and other businesses and concerns.
Carla Befera Public Relations has acted as public relations
counsel and created advertising and marketing plans for long-running
theatre hits including Steve Martin's Picasso At The
Lapin Agile, Sylvia, Greater
Tuna, Noises Off, and Ian
Mckellen Acting Shakespeare. Touring Broadway productions
include The Producers, Hairspray,
Mamma Mia!, The Lion King,
Cabaret, Chicago,
Les Miserables, Cats, Contact,
Wit, Fosse, Penn
& Teller, and Miss Saigon, among
many others, and starring vehicles for Liza Minnelli, Kathleen
Turner, Cybill Shepherd Julie Harris, Lauren Bacall, Carol
Channing, Richard Chamberlain, Peggy Lee, Joel Grey, Roger
Rees, and Carroll O'Connor.
Carla Befera has also managed public relations for acclaimed
public television series including Comedy Tonight!,

the Telescope. Carla Befera was the 1985 and 1986
recipient of the national Public Broadcasting Publicity Award.
She has worked with stations across the U.S. to publicize
